Entry and Transit Requirements for Taiwan Passengers Traveling to Beijing
1. Entry into Beijing
Travelers from Taiwan who hold one of the following certificates shall be approved to enter the country:
(1) Travelers holding a valid “Permit for Taiwan Residents to and from Mainland China”. If the Permit is within the valid period but does not have a valid entry/transit endorsement, the traveler shall resubmit the Permit for entry/transit endorsement after arriving in Beijing. The retroactive endorsement fee is RMB 100. Travelers who do not have a valid “Permit for Taiwan Residents to and from Mainland China” shall submit their Taiwan ID card and a copy of their Taiwan ID card upon arrival at the Beijing airport to apply for a “One-time valid Permit for Taiwan Residents to and from Mainland China”. This application must include two 2-inch color photos with a white background. The fee for a “One-time valid Permit” is RMB 150.
(The fees for a retroactive endorsement or a one-time valid Permit are provided for reference only. The actual fees shall refer to the charge receipt.)
(2) Travelers holding a valid “Travel Permit of the People’s Republic of China”.
2. Transit through Beijing
In addition to a valid passport and destination visas with six months’ validity or longer, travelers from Taiwan shall hold a valid “Travel Permit of People’s Republic of China” with six months validity or longer or a “Permit for Taiwan Residents to and from Mainland China (without endorsement)” with six months validity or longer to obtain approval for transit through Beijing. Travelers who don’t hold one of these certificates will not be granted the right to transit.
3. Air China will stop passengers whose travel documents do not comply with China’s entry and transit requirements. Travelers who are required to complete entry and/or transit formalities in Beijing shall handle the procedures in a timely manner after arriving in Beijing. If completing the entry or transit formalities causes any delays that result in travelers missing connecting flights, the responsibility shall be assumed by the travelers themselves.
