Passengers who hold Republic of China passports must show their passport and valid Taiwan Compatriot Entry Permit when flying on international flights with transfers in mainland China (passengers on transfer do not need endorsement). If the Entry Permit is not presented, passengers may show their Taiwan Resident Identification Card to apply for the visa on arrival at the connecting city in mainland China (the city must be equipped to provide visas on arrival).
