On May 12, 2009 at 2:00pm, the Taiwan Star Alliance held a demo on the 3rd floor of the Grand Formosa Regent Taipei Hotel ballroom to promote tourism industry related products. There were 117 participating travel agents, and 215 attendees. Based on the most popular recent film “Cape No. 7” with Old Mao and Chie Tanaka as the lead characters, a short sketch was used to promote the benefits of using the Star Alliance membership card and Round the World tickets. This allowed the participants a deeper understanding of the Star Alliance business philosophy. Also, there was a special presentation to introduce cross-strait direct flights and the two leading airlines in the Taiwan Star Alliance, Air China and Shanghai Airlines. At the end of the stage presentations, industry members were able to mingle and communicate with their counterparts at booths that were specially set up for Star Alliance member airlines.

The Taiwan Star Alliance wishes to convey their sincerest gratitude to members of the industry for their unfailing support, especially to the three GDS companies (ABACUS / AMADEUS / GALILEO) who have jointly sponsored “Star Alliance Weekly Draws, Generous Giveaways” held from April 6, 2009 to June 12, 2009. In addition, the Taiwan Star Alliance will hold a Star Alliance blog writing competition in the second half of the year. By jotting down ideas and learning points about traveling around the world in the blog, the winner stands to walk away with a pair of Round the World tickets worth 180,000 TWD.
